Hi!
Thank you so much for booking The Christmas Village Experience! I’m so excited to welcome your family into the studio and create a little Christmas magic together.
Here are a few things to know before your session:
What to wear
The Christmas Village was designed with soft, neutral colors, warm wood tones, greenery and twinkling lights, so many different styles and colors will work beautifully. You can come in your holiday best, choose a cozy Christmas look or keep things simple and neutral.
If more than one person will be photographed, coordinating your outfits usually works better than matching exactly. I also recommend avoiding large logos or extremely busy patterns.
Parents are welcome to be in the photographs, but you can also choose to have the session focus entirely on your children. If your child is not yet sitting independently, a parent or caregiver will need to hold or support them in some of the scenes, so I recommend coming dressed and photo-ready just in case.
What to bring
If you would like your child to send a letter to Santa, please have them write it ahead of time and bring it with you. They’ll have the opportunity to place it in a special envelope, add a holiday stamp and mail it at Santa’s Post Office. And don’t worry if you forget or don’t have time to write one beforehand. We’ll have a few ready-to-mail letters waiting at the studio so every child can still enjoy the experience!
A little note about the snow
You’ll see snow throughout the Christmas Village, but it is part of the scenery and cannot be touched or played in. We know it may look very tempting, so please give your children a little heads-up before arriving!
At the very end of the session, we’ll give them a small amount of special “snow” to blow toward the camera for their own magical snow moment.
When you arrive
Please plan to be parked and ready a few minutes before your scheduled session. The parking area is directly in front of the studio, so please wait comfortably in your car and come to the door five minutes before your appointment. This gives the family ahead of you time to finish and allows us to reset the village before welcoming you inside.
Because sessions are scheduled closely together, arriving late may shorten the amount of time we have for your photographs.
If you need to reschedule
If you need to change your appointment, please email us at least one week before your scheduled session, and we will try our best to accommodate you. You’ll also receive a reminder email with the final details a few days before your shoot.
I truly can’t wait for you to see the Christmas Village and experience everything we have planned. We’re going to have so much fun creating these memories with your family!
The studio address is 8 Stony Brook Avenue, Stony Brook NY 11790.
Warmly,
Jackie
